Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre, Mexico City, Mexico

The Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre (GTICC) at Mexico, is a Cultural Centre of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations of India. The Centre was established in Mexico City in 2010.

The Centre promotes bilateral cultural linkages between India and Mexico by organizing cultural programmes, cultural seminars, workshops and trainings engaging India based Gurus professionals and trainers for Yoga, Hindi, Indian classical vocal/Instrumental Music such as Sitar, Tabla, Pakhawaj and Indian Dances such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Mohiniyattam, Odissi. Besides, these the centre also conducts cooking classes.

GTICC comprises of a library and a reading room that has over 5000 books in various languages.

GTICC regularly organizes cultural outreach programmes. The GTICC from time to time provides platform to artistes of Mexico, India and other nationalities who want to showcase their talent in Indian Performing, Literary and Fine Arts by giving them opportunity to participate in events and programmes organized in collaboration with the Embassy of India or with other institutions in Mexico.

The Centre regularly partners with various government and non-government agencies including Mexican academia and the media, to showcase the culture of India through its teachers, students, and local Mexican artistes &performers. Its academic collaboration with Universities plays an important role in propagating various facets of Indian culture.

The year 2018 has been for the Centre a landmark year for two reasons. Firstly, India had the distinction of being the Guest of Honour Country at the 46th Cervantino International Festival in Oct 2018 at Guanajuato, Mexico and secondly, India will be the Guest of Honour at the Feria Internacional del Libros de Guadalajara (FIL) in its 33rd edition to be held at Guadalajara, Mexico in Nov-Dec, 2019.

It also provides guidance and support to and in processing of applications of students interested in ICCR scholarship programmes or those who want to study in India on self-financing basis.
